Objective. To analyze the scientific production in open access and public domain patents related to curauá fiber, highlighting the availability of this information as a driver for innovation. Method Based on bibliometric principles, using the OpenAlex database for scientific publications and the Orbit database for patentometric data. The terms "curauá", the scientific name of the species, and the word "fiber" in English were considered. Graphs were generated using the Vosviewer software. Results. The technologies analyzed cover manufacturing methods and processes, as well as fiber-based composite materials. In open-access scientific production, the identified knowledge involves modifications on the surface of natural and synthetic fibers, as well as composites. Conclusions. Public domain patents reveal new opportunities for technological development and innovation. When such information is combined with open-access scientific production, it forms a promising methodology for developing indicators and strengthens actions aimed at the sustainable extraction and use of curauá fiber.
