Abstract

Objective. To characterize users of Brazilian Information Science journals on Twitter (X). Method. The research universe covered journals with an active profile on Twitter (X), indexed in BRAPCI and classified in Qualis Periódicos (2013-2016): Acervo, AtoZ, and Ciência da Informação em Revista. Users with the highest interaction in posts were analyzed based on their biographies and geographic data. Cluster analysis was applied using Ward's clustering method and chi-square distance via SPSS. Results. Most profiles belong to the scientific community, with self-declarations such as “Graduate student” and “Librarian.” Some users have ties to the journal, such as editors, and there is a tendency for them to be located in the same region as the journal. Furthermore, the most used resources in the biography were mentions. Conclusions. It is concluded that the community of users who interact most with the posts made by the analyzed journals are concentrated in the scientific field.
