Selection editorial team of Biblios Journal

The Editorial Board of Biblios Journal, in the use of its powers, announces the opening of a Public Call for the selection of volunteers to compose the Editorial Team of Biblios Journal for the period 2024-2025. The selection process will take place from August 6 to October 9, 2024.

1 Composition of the Editorial Team

The editorial team will be composed of the following positions, under the direction of the Editor-in-Chief:

 

  • Editor (1 vacancy, which may be increased at the discretion of the committee)
  • Plagiarism check (1 vacancy, extendable at the committee's discretion)
  • Proofreading (1 vacancy, extendable at the discretion of the committee)
  • Editing (1 vacancy, extendable at the discretion of the committee)
  • Cover, marketing and advertising (1 vacancy, expandable at the discretion of the committee)
  • Indexing (1 vacancy, extendable at the discretion of the committee)
  • Technology (1 vacancy, expandable at the discretion of the committee)

2 Selection Committee

The Selection Committee will be composed of three members of the Biblios Editorial Team and five members of the Editorial Board, chaired by the Editor-in-Chief, who will have the casting vote.

 Responsibilities of the Selection Committee

  • Coordinate the selection process
  • Publicize the candidacies
  • Analyze the CVs received
  • Discuss issues related to the process

4 Registration

Applications will be accepted between 07/15/2024 and 08/18/2024, until 6:00 p.m., via an online form. Applicants must send

  • Completed form with personal data
  • Updated CV from Lattes, or similar (max. 30 days old)

Nominations received will be announced on 08/21/2024 through the official channels of Biblios Journal.

5 Prerequisites:

  • Adherence to the editorial activity
  • Availability of 4 hours per week for the Biblios Journal
  • Participation in monthly/extraordinary meetings (via Google Meet)
  • Work on the Biblios Journal is voluntary.

6 Desirable requirements:

  • Proper use of Portuguese and/or Spanish and/or English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Systems, spreadsheet and document skills (Office Suite, Libre Office, Google Drive)

7 Requirements for Information Technology Editors:

  • Knowledge of programming languages and web formatting (HTML5, CSS, Javascript, PHP).
  • Knowledge of template languages (Smarty)
  • Knowledge of SQL and databases (MySql)
  • Knowledge of protocols (HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, DNS)
  • Basic configuration of Linux servers with Apache

8 Positions and functions

8.1 Tasks:

  • Daily checking of e-mail
  • Analysis and submission of applications
  • Drafting and sending declarations and certificates
  • Invite evaluators
  • Update the register of reviewers and authors
  • Request ORCID identifier for authors
  • Create a "Dossier" document for each issue.

8.2 Plagiarism check

  • Checking manuscripts in anti-plagiarism software
  • Report similarities to the editor-in-chief
  • Decide on the progress of post-testing evaluations

 

8.3 Proofreading:

  • Proofread approved articles in Portuguese, Spanish or English
  • Formatting articles according to the ABNT, ISO or APA template and standards
  • Verify citations and references according to ABNT, ISO or APA standards.
  • Communicate to the authors the need for corrections.
  • Keeping the work up to date

8.4 Edit:

  • Insert the final texts in the journal’s template
  • Formatting the final texts, inserting the publication data
  • Convert final texts to PDF/A
  • Keeping the work up to date

8.5 Cover, marketing and advertising:

  • Create covers for all issues
  • Identify themes for issues and editions
  • Planning posts for social networks
  • Create promotional artwork
  • Promote the graphic material on social networks (Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, Linkedin).
  • Realization of advertising campaigns

8.6 Indexing:

  • Updating records in indexed databases
  • Search for new indexes
  • Checking and updating metadata
  • Index the articles in each issue
  • Register articles in the DOI system

8.7 Information technology

  • Update the journal’s layout
  • Adding/editing static content blocks
  • Configure plugins
  • Implementing responsiveness and usability solutions
  • Keep the magazine system running smoothly

9 Analysis of nominations

The Selection Committee will evaluate the information provided in the online form, taking into account interest, availability, knowledge of the Scientific Edition and the Editorial Policy of Revista Biblios, and suitability for the positions.

 

10 Incorporation of the Editorial Team

The induction of the members of the Editorial Team for the 2024-2025 term will take place on October 14, 2024, at 11 a.m. via Google Meet.

Omissions will be resolved by the Selection Committee.
