What is Check Review?

Also known as desk review, it is the initial stage of the editorial process responsible for the technical and ethical preliminary evaluation of submitted manuscripts, verifying formal aspects, compliance with the journal’s guidelines, integrity of the information, and adherence to good editorial practices. It is a strategic function to ensure the quality and credibility of what will be forwarded to peer review.

General requirements:

  1. Not having articles under review or published in Biblios during 2024 and 2025;
  2. Availability of 6 hours per week;
  3. Knowledge of the OJS system and good editorial practices;
  4. Organization, effective communication, and ability to work in a team.

Biblios Open Call Timeline

Weeks 1-2 – Call for Applications (August 25 – September 5)

Applications via Google Forms in Spanish and Portuguese.

Week 3 – Candidate Screening (September 6)
Candidate profile analysis based on role requirements.
Preliminary selection of candidates for interviews.

Week 4 – Interviews and Final Evaluation (September 9–11)
Interviews with pre-selected candidates.
Selection of successful candidates for each role.

Week 5 – Results Announcement (September 15)
Notification of selected candidates.
Public announcement of the new editorial team members.

Week 6 – Onboarding (September 22)
Welcome meeting with new editors and the journal’s team.
General training based on workgroups.
