The objective of this study was to develop a Terminology Database of Museology (BDT-M), within the framework of the Terminology Data Bank of Information Sciences (BDT-CI), in order to help systematize the terminology of the museological field in Colombia. A six-stage methodology was applied, based on the models of Auger and Rousseau (2003) and Cabré (1993, 1999), which included the creation of specialized corpora, validation with experts through focus groups and the design of a monolingual terminology card in Spanish with equivalents in Portuguese and English. As a result, a database with 221 terms was built, in addition to an interactive glossary with the inclusion of terms in Colombian sign language. It is concluded that this research contributes to the consolidation of the specialized discourse of museology, the reduction of conceptual ambiguities, the promotion of inclusion, specialized communication and the strengthening of the discipline in academic and professional contexts.
