Explorando la producción científica en la Franja de Gaza

Resumen

Objetivo. Este estudio examina la producción académica de los investigadores de la Franja de Gaza. Método. Se analizaron datos de la base de datos Scopus, los cuales revelaron 4.076 documentos escritos por investigadores con sede en Gaza para febrero de 2024. El análisis bibliométrico se realizó utilizando SciVal y VOSviewer. Resultados. La producción científica de Gaza ha crecido significativamente, superando las 400 publicaciones anuales en 2022 y 2023. El análisis de citas indica una mayor visibilidad global. Los campos de investigación clave incluyen Medicina, Ingeniería, Ciencia de Materiales y Física. Instituciones como la Universidad Islámica de Gaza y la Universidad Al-Azhar de Gaza han realizado contribuciones sustanciales a pesar del asedio impuesto por Israel. Autores prolíficos y colaboraciones internacionales han contribuido al creciente impacto de la investigación de Gaza. Sin embargo, las limitaciones de las redes académicas locales debido a restricciones externas son evidentes en los puntajes FWCI más bajos para las colaboraciones nacionales. Conclusiones. Este estudio resalta la resiliencia de la comunidad académica de Gaza y subraya la importancia de apoyar y reconocer las contribuciones académicas de la región.
