Objective. To analyze the scenario of Brazilian institutional repositories, through the application of a set of webometric instruments and indicators, from a quantitative perspective; and to recognize possible relationships between these webometric indicators. Method. Descriptive and quantitative, using Pearson's linear correlation. Nine indicators were measured in Brazilian repositories. Results. Repositories with a low number of web mentions, which demands attention, considering that Open Science aims for democracy in access, with dialog in spaces that are not traditionally academic. Pearson's linear correlation showed that indexing in search engines appears to be more influential in the web visibility of repositories than the number of items deposited. Conclusions. Through the use of webometric indicators and resources, in academic and broader contexts, as well as externally and internally to the host institution, it was possible to carry out a more comprehensive and accessible analysis of Brazilian institutional repositories.
